I strike the match upon the box, I ignite the incense stick. The smoke spirals and twists. Tickling my nose, Clinging to my hair. Exotic spices fill the air: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Neroli, or Nag Champa. The red ember glows, Like an eye As I stare At the smoky tendrils I become mystified. What will I see? Quite incantation whispered, Breath held; then released. A moment of contemplation... The smoke begins to shift. Shapes transform before my eyes, Now I can plainly see! The answers to my questions, Laid out in front of me.
Making a wand is the easiest tool that you can make. All its takes is a little imagination and a few basic supplies that you can find anywhere.
Here is what you need:
1. A stick - can be cut from a specific tree, like a rowan, oak or ash, etc or can be one that you found laying on the ground somewhere. The length should be from your elbow to your finger tip. The thickness dosn't matter, I have thin wands and a thick one. Also, if you wand to stain it because the bark is peeling and looks bad, the find one with bark that will come off easilly. Or you can leave the bark off if the bark is a nice texture and color. But for this project, lets say you took the bark off. Then move on to the next step.
2. Sandpaper. When all the bark is off, take a piece of sandpaper and sand the wand. Make sure it is all smooth and there are no rough spots.
3. Stain. Then take some stain and brush it on the wand. Stain can be found everywhere and its inexpensive for a little can. You can get dark or light stain - whichever you like best. You may want to put 2 coats of stain on to make it darker if you bought a light one. Wait about and hour or so to put the second coat on.
4. Polyurathaine - To make the wand look nice and shiny and to protect it, you will wand to put a coat of polyurathaine on it. This also can be found at any store and is inexpensive. When the stain is dry, brush on a layer of this, let it dry for about and hour then add another coat. The more coats you add the shinier it will be. (some people like myself prefer the Natural look and will only sand the wand down and keep it looking natural, but that is of personal preferance, and to each their own:D)
If you like to woodburn or have wood carving tools, you could do that to the wand after you sandpaper and before you stain. Symbols like stars, goddess signs, runes or anything else like that would look nice on a wand. Also, if you have acrylic paints you could paint the wands with symbols after sandpapering. If you do this, skip the staining and just put a layer or two of polyurathaine over it.
WinterOak gave me a Splendid idea! We were talking about what we were doing this Imbolc, he had mentioned how he was planning to have a Visual/Spiritual Journey. I think it is an Excellent idea, which in turn gave me the urge to do one myself, so i was snoopin around and found one i like and am gonna try. (If anyone is interested i will be happy to post it) Ive done visual journeys before, but did so just to bring myself closer to the Elements. Myself im a Day Dreamer, i have no problem visualizing anything my heart desires, but however i do like to add Mary~Jane or Shrooms or even hash to the mix. I find it hightens the journey.....
I know some may disagree on using this techneique but you know what i really don't care, i find it helps one to focus and to actually not be distracted when going into and leaving your visualization/ spiritual journey. Actually id advise new ones that have not actually taken a journey that this is the best way to start, BUT i will however say that if you have never tried any kind of drugs, your best bet would be the hash.....its more mellow :D
By the way i wish everyone here in Covenspace a Blessed Imbolc BB)o(
Last night was the Full Moon, and it was Soooooo Beautiful, and Entrancing, I would have missed it because of suffering with a Massive Miagraine yesterday. But i wanted to take a specific picture for my Best Bud, so it was that alone that gave me enough fire to get up and go enjoy and savor this nite. I took several shots but only a couple were satisfactory, the best of the Best i sent to my Best Bud, and it was a really amazing shot, when i took it it was crystal clear out, but when the shot was taken, a mist had appeared, it was pretty! The only other shot that took second to it was this one:
Which i think turned out pretty Cool itself too! Anyhoo, i hope everyone got a chance to enjoy the Full Moon last nite, because if you were out under that glorious Moon, You were NOT alone! Blessings to Everyone, BB)o(

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.
The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.
